Enid arrived on Tuesday and contacted Natasha, her grandaughter to catch up. She had intended to come over to Ashgrove, but when she hopped in her car to do so she discovered she only had one headlight so we re-organised to meet her at Prima Vera at Corinda near where she lives for brekkie.

From here we travelled to the Gold Coast as we had arranged to meet Rick and Jenny Veivers. We had cruised with them on the "Oriana' to U.K. last year. they very thoughtfully invited Lex and Sharyn over for lunch and it was a great day and a good "catch up." rick's mum was there and also another friend -Keith. A great time was had by all.

Early next morning we set out for the west. Left early as we wanted to beat the rat race - the work traffic so we were on the main drag by 5.15am. Ran a bit late as we talked too much and missed the Toowoomba turn off so finished up going into Ipswich and out again. Had a roadhouse brekkie in Toowoomba before continuing to Dalby. Lunch time found us having a cuppa' while we waited for Jo and June to arrive. Then we enjoyed lunch together before we moved off to Miles.

Fiddled around in Miles. I had lost the sugar so restocked and apparently the pork sausages from the butchery there are to die for so picked some up. Also heard that there's rats at Birdsville so bought some rat-sack and also some insect spray.

Of course, this wandering around made us late into Mitchell. had to travel slowly as the road is atrocious.
did Mitchell up. Wewnt investigating, walking and had a drink at the Courthouse Pub. We have arranged to meet jo and june for a BBQ at the camp kitchen this evening. Last night there was a "cook-out" - a 3 course meal foe $12.50 and proceeds to charity.
